dotsandplanes, specialised in curated tours for professionals, has been appointed to create exclusive tours for international architects and interior designers for the 50th birthday of the Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk, Belgium.

In close collaboration with 18 Belgian exhibitors of the Biennale Interieur, more than 150 professionals, mainly from Paris, London and German cities such as Berlin and Stuttgart, will be invited.

Through experience and knowledge of the design industry, dotsandplanes understands better than anyone what professionals expect from a hosted tour. With a high pace and in small groups, they get to know each other, meet relevant contacts at the brands and see the story behind the products.

The tours start with a networking dinner at an exclusive location. Headliner of the programme is the Biennale Interieur. In a rapidly changing world, the Biennale is a platform for selected companies and talent, that dare to make a meaningful statement. For the first time, 18 of those companies will also open their doors for an exclusive visit behind the scenes.

The 18 Belgian companies involved in the programme are 2Tec2 & Limited Edition, Argent Alu, Atelier Vierkant, BIC Carpets, Casalis, Deltalight, Durlet, Extremis, Hullebusch, Obumex, Renson, Umbrosa, Verilin, Wever & Ducré en Zumi.

About dotsandplanes

Dotsandplanes was founded in 2015 by design experts Joost Vanhecke and An Michiels and organises curated tours for professionals. Connecting and inspiring is central to their approach. They brought international clients to leading events like Art Basel and to European design destinations such as Copenhagen and Zurich. Their Belgian clients discovered the heart of the architecture, interiors, innovation and making industry in lesser known cities, such as Talinn and Graz. Networking, culture, local gastronomy and lifestyle are an integral part of the dotsandplanes experience. The tours focus on small groups and are guided personally by Joost, An and contacts in their network of international design professionals.

Joost Vanhecke

Throughout the years, Joost has initiated numerous exhibitions, product showcases, pop-up shops and temporary restaurants. He is guest lecturer at the French Rubika school of design and leads BOSS paints on it’s route to internationalisation.

An Michiels

An worked during 10 years in London as a project architect. In 2010, she shifted her focus and obtained an MA Curating Contemporary Design. She initiates design events and works in communication and design writing for clients such as bulthaup Belgium.
